Material and Finish

The bowl is made from Japanese sen wood, decorated with genuine gold leaf, and finished with wiped lacquer.

Main Features

This natural wooden bowl features an “oborozuki,” or hazy moon, created with genuine gold leaf. The gold moon design shines beautifully against the wood grain and can add elegance to both Japanese and Western table settings.

The design uses the natural wood grain as part of the scenery, while the gold leaf moon adds a refined and modern Japanese accent.

The wooden base is thinly carved by skilled woodworkers, finished to bring out the beauty of the wood, and the moon motif is expressed by gold leaf artisans using only gold leaf.

Care Instructions

Wash with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Avoid using a dishwasher, dish dryer, or microwave.
Because the gold leaf is applied by hand, each piece has a slightly different gold leaf pattern and expression.
