The pen uses genuine gold leaf and HAKUICHI’s original decorative technique. Fine pieces of gold leaf are scattered over the body, creating a deep, irregular shine. Since each piece is finished by hand, no two pens are exactly the same, and the expression changes depending on the light.

Craftsmanship of Maki-e Artisans
The pen is decorated with maki-e by artisans from Ishikawa Prefecture. Maki-e is a traditional technique in which metallic powder is sprinkled to make delicate patterns appear. Details such as clouds, Mt. Fuji, and each crane are given subtle shading, creating a beautiful miniature world inside a small pen.

Four Auspicious Japanese Designs
The four designs are Thousand Cranes, Mt. Fuji, Red Fuji, and Pine-Bamboo-Plum. These motifs are easy to introduce to international customers as meaningful Japanese lucky designs.
