Design Story

The series expresses the feeling of waiting for spring through soft colors. It reflects the emotions of people in Kanazawa, where heavy snow and thick winter clouds eventually give way to beautiful Sakura blossoms announcing the arrival of spring.

To create the soft colors, the series applies a technique inspired by suminagashi, a traditional marbling method. The pale Sakura pink is expressed through white and pink marble-like patterns, and because each piece is made by hand, every color expression is unique. Genuine gold leaf and champagne gold leaf are then added to the design.
